Sakkari Privacy

Scope

This privacy policy applies only to the Sakkari Chrome extension.

Information Sakkari reads

Sakkari reads information from YouTube pages so it can show recipe ingredients, steps, transcripts, and related navigation context in the extension side panel. This may include page descriptions, transcripts, loaded comments, video titles, channel names, and page state needed to keep the panel in sync with the current video.

Information Sakkari stores locally

If you provide a Gemini API key, Sakkari stores that key locally in chrome.storage.local. Sakkari may also store local extension settings needed to run its features on your device.

Third-party processing

If you choose to add a Gemini API key and use AI-assisted features, Sakkari may send relevant YouTube-derived text to the Gemini API, including description text, transcript text, and loaded comment text when those sources are used for recipe extraction or voice-navigation assistance.

Microphone access

Microphone access is optional. If you enable voice-navigation features, Sakkari may capture microphone audio and send that audio to the Gemini API to transcribe or interpret your spoken command.

User choices

You can remove your Gemini API key at any time from the extension settings. You can also deny microphone access or stop using voice features at any time.

Retention

Sakkari processes most page-derived data locally in the browser. Based on the current repository implementation, Sakkari does not indicate a separate server-side database or storage service operated by Sakkari for this extension data.

Changes

This policy may be updated if the extension’s permissions, data handling, or features change. Material updates will be reflected by updating this page.
